Why Tournament Teams?
Basketball tournaments bring together both representative and domestic junior basketball teams throughout the year, especially during long weekends. They cater to age groups ranging from under 10s to under 20s, for both boys and girls, with multiple divisions in each age group.
Build Connections: Form new friendships by teaming up with players from various Heathdale Hornets teams.
Skill Development: Represent the Hornets and hone your basketball skills in a supportive environment.
Stay Active: Don’t miss out on basketball action during the holidays—join a new Heathdale Hornets team today!
Organised by the hosting Basketball Association: These tournaments offer a vibrant atmosphere and the thrill of competitive play across various exciting locations.
Key Rules and Guidelines:
  • Tournament Fees: Parents are responsible for covering their player’s tournament fees.
  • Eligibility: Coaches and players must be part of a Heathdale Hornets team (WBA or Altona Domestic Competitions).
  • Team Formation: Players and coaches can form teams with other Hornets from the same year and tournament age group. Regular domestic rosters remain unaffected.
  • Club Notification: Inform the club prior to team registration.
  • Uniforms: Participants must wear Heathdale Hornets uniforms.
  • Registration: Teams will be registered under Heathdale Hornets on PlayHQ.
  • Sportsmanship: Play fair and have fun! Embrace the excitement of basketball tournaments while proudly representing the Heathdale Hornets!
Started with Team Formation!
It’s time to mix and match to create a competitive teams for the tournaments. Similar to domestic competition, you stay within your age group or play-up. Each Tournament will have their criteria e.g. 10-players maximum or a 3-players per team
  • Register the team e.g. Heathdale Hornets Red U12 or Heathdale Hornets Blue U14
  • Gather the correct number of players.
  • Don the Hornets jersey.
  • Represent the Swarmy Army!!!
